SUMMARY
Operating a permanent supportive housing program to serve competency-involved individuals in Weld County; services include employment support, education, job skills training, and benefit acquisition

BACKGROUND
When competency clients are released to be restored in the community, often they lack a housing plan, and are at risk of homelessness.   Stable housing is a key barrier many competency individuals face to be successfully restored in the community.  Once restored, the housing barrier continues to limit clients potential to lead successful lives.

Permanent supportive housing, employment support, education, job skills training, benefit acquisition, transportation, and wraparound services

ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES
Decrease in individuals who require admittance to the state hospital for competency restoration; Decrease in time to reach competency outcome; Increase in clients being placed in permanent housing

STANDOUT ASPECTS
The focus of this program is on client housing and supportive services to achieve successful outcomes for clients.  Homelessness is a significant barrier to those who might otherwise be safely released from custody to engage in restoration services in the community.  This program offers to solve the housing problem for its clients for as long as they wish to participate by providing housing vouchers for permanent supportive housing.
